On May 11-12, 2024, British auditor Ricky Wilby conducted a comprehensive on-site and process audit of Jinjiang Guotai Leather Co., Ltd., and praised the company’s performance, particularly commending its wastewater treatment system. As a result, Guotai Leather successfully earned the prestigious “Gold Rated” title.
The British Leather Technology Centre (BLC) collaborates with global brand footwear buyers and related suppliers to form the Leather Working Group (LWG), with BLC overseeing certifications. These certifications focus on key criteria such as energy conservation, carbon reduction, environmental protection, and management.
Today, an increasing number of multinational leather companies are joining the LWG-certified procurement system. Passing BLC’s rigorous inspection is a prerequisite for leather factories to obtain and participate in LWG buyers’ orders. Consequently, this certification holds significant strategic importance for Guotai Leather. During the audit, BLC-LWG auditor Ricky Wilby, accompanied by Guotai staff, conducted a detailed site inspection and engaged in professional discussions during the evaluation meeting. Since its establishment, Guotai has prioritized energy conservation and emission reduction, with strict adherence to environmental standards across all departments and workshops. Ricky Wilby highly praised Guotai’s thorough preparation for the audit and offered valuable suggestions for further improving environmental sustainability.
The outstanding achievement of receiving the BLC Gold Rating is the result of years of dedication and hard work by the entire Guotai team. Moving forward, Guotai will continue to uphold its commitment to green development and fulfill its corporate social responsibilities.
